Why this happens
When your agent needs a TCGplayer session and finds you’re signed out, it opens one visible Chrome sign-in window and keeps that same window open rather than closing and reopening a new one every cycle. While it’s waiting, the agent:- Checks the existing window roughly every 30 minutes to see if you’ve signed in
- Does not open a second window on top of the first
- Picks up as soon as it detects a successful sign-in
This is expected, not a bug
The agent is deliberately built to idle here rather than give up. If you’re away from your computer, it just waits quietly instead of retrying aggressively or exiting, and it keeps checking the same window on the same roughly 30-minute cadence indefinitely — it won’t error out or need a restart just because you’ve been away. How to clear it
- Look for the Chrome window. It may be behind other windows or minimized. It’s a normal Chrome window pointed at TCGplayer’s login page, not a Hoard-branded dialog.
- Log in normally. Enter your TCGplayer seller credentials and complete any CAPTCHA if one appears.
- Give it a minute. The agent polls the window on its own schedule — it can take up to about 30 minutes to notice a sign-in that happened right after a check, though in practice it usually catches on much sooner once the page finishes loading.
- If you don’t see any Chrome window at all, the agent may not have launched one yet, or the desktop app may not be running. Open the local dashboard from the systray icon and confirm the agent process is active.
- If it’s been stuck for hours with no window ever appearing, restart the desktop app. That forces a clean relaunch of the browser on the next cycle.
