Connect Hoard to ChatGPT and ask things like “what’s selling best this week?” or “draft separate pricing rules for bulk and foils, then show what each would affect.”

What you’ll need

  • A paid plan (Gold, Platinum, or Diamond)
  • ChatGPT on the web with access to Developer mode and remote MCP connections. Availability and write permissions depend on your plan and workspace policy.
This guide connects ChatGPT to Hoard’s hosted MCP server. ChatGPT cannot connect directly to an MCP server running only on your computer or private network.

Steps

Turn on developer mode

Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT. If you do not see the option, check your account or workspace permissions. OpenAI’s current MCP connection instructions show the latest menu path.

Add a remote MCP connection

Add a new remote MCP connection in ChatGPT’s Developer mode. If the menu has moved, follow OpenAI’s connection instructions linked above.

Paste the Hoard MCP URL

Paste this URL into the connector field:
If ChatGPT asks for a name, use ChatGPT Connector. If it asks for authentication, choose OAuth. Click Scan Tools or the equivalent next step.

Sign in to Hoard and finish setup

ChatGPT opens a Hoard sign-in window. Sign in, then click Allow on the consent screen. After the redirect back to ChatGPT, wait for the tool scan to finish, then click Create.The connection uses OAuth — no API key paste required. Revoke any time from Settings → Assistants.

Try it out

Start a new ChatGPT conversation, select the Hoard app from the tools menu, then ask:
“What were my best-selling cards last week?”
ChatGPT will read the data Hoard has synced for your account. Check the last sync time before acting on a recent order or price.

Revoking access

Open Settings → Assistants in Hoard and click Revoke next to ChatGPT.

Troubleshooting

ChatGPT does not show Create or custom MCP connectors Remote MCP access depends on your ChatGPT plan, workspace role, and Developer mode. Ask your workspace admin if applicable, and check OpenAI’s current instructions for the latest setup path. I use ChatGPT on mobile or need a local MCP server Custom MCP apps are web-only, and ChatGPT does not connect directly to local MCP servers. Use Hoard’s hosted URL in ChatGPT web instead. The Hoard sign-in window never appears Remove the failed connector, create it again, and use ChatGPT Connector as the connector name if ChatGPT asks for one. ChatGPT says the connector failed Make sure you pasted https://mcp.tryhoard.com/mcp exactly, including the trailing /mcp. ChatGPT shows a draft app but the OAuth flow fails after redirect Delete the failed draft and recreate the connection from ChatGPT’s current Developer mode entry point. Use OAuth if ChatGPT asks which authentication method to use, and wait for the tool scan to finish before completing setup.
