You can price a pasted decklist without a Hoard account. TCGMCP is a free, read-only MCP server for market estimates across 20+ trading card games. Connect it to an AI assistant, paste one card per line, and ask it to use price_deck.

TCGMCP uses a remote Streamable HTTP server. There is no account, API key, or inventory connection:

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL above, and connect it. Then enable TCGMCP in the conversation where you want to price the deck.

Use ChatGPT on the web. If Developer mode is available to you, enable it and add the URL above as a remote MCP connection. ChatGPT’s menus and access depend on your plan and workspace policy; see OpenAI’s current connection instructions if the option has moved. TCGMCP itself is read-only.

Add this to .cursor/mcp.json for one project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json to make it available in every project:
Open Cursor chat or Composer after saving the file. TCGMCP should appear in the available tools.

Price the deck

Paste your list and ask a direct question. Include the game when card names could be ambiguous:
Use price_deck to price this Magic decklist. Show the resolved cards, call out every unresolved line, and tell me whether the result is a full market estimate or a known-price subtotal.
price_deck accepts raw decklist text, one card per line, with quantities such as 4 Lightning Bolt or 4x Lightning Bolt. A set in parentheses helps select the intended printing. You can also provide a game hint such as Magic, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, or Lorcana.

Read the result before you buy

The response includes a line-by-line table for cards it resolved, plus one of these totals:
  • Market estimate means every resolved line had a price and no decklist line was left unresolved.
  • Known-price subtotal means the total excludes unresolved cards or resolved cards that did not have a price on file.
  • Unknown means none of the resolved cards had a price on file. It does not mean the deck is worth $0.
Fix or clarify every unresolved line before relying on the total. TCGMCP returns suggestions when it can, but it cannot know which printing you intended from an ambiguous name alone. The TCGplayer link is a way to start a cart, not a checkout quote. Live listings can differ in price and condition, and TCGplayer calculates shipping across sellers at checkout. Review the current cart and listings before purchasing.

What this tool does not do

TCGMCP is a public pricing tool. It does not see your collection, store, purchase history, or TCGplayer account, and it does not change anything. price_deck uses the default non-foil printing for its v1 deck estimate; use list_printings when the exact printing or finish matters.

When you’re pricing your own store instead

TCGMCP is useful for a deck you want to value or buy. If you sell on TCGplayer and need an assistant to analyze your own inventory, current listings, sales, or pricing rules, connect the authenticated Hoard MCP instead. Hoard is built for your store data and gates any price-rule change behind a review step.
