If you’ve been tracking your collection in Collectr and want to bring it into Hoard instead of rebuilding it by hand, you can import your Collectr portfolio export directly. Hoard reads the file and creates matching inventory cards for you.

Step 1: Export your portfolio from Collectr

From Collectr, export your portfolio as a CSV file. Hoard auto-detects Collectr exports by their column headers, so no special settings are needed on the Collectr side — just export the portfolio as a CSV, not any other format.

Step 2: Upload the file to Hoard

Go to the import panel on the Cards tab (or drag the file onto the welcome flow if you’re setting up a new account), and upload the CSV. Hoard checks the column headers to tell your file apart from a TCGplayer inventory export automatically — you don’t need to tell it which kind of file it is. A Collectr CSV needs these columns to be recognized: Portfolio Name, Category, Variance.

Step 3: Let Hoard build your inventory

Collectr doesn’t provide TCGplayer SKU IDs, since it’s not tied to a TCGplayer store the way a TCGplayer export is. Hoard handles this by generating a custom listing identity for each card from its set, name, number, condition, variance, and grade, rather than a tcgplayer_id. Your cards land in inventory as custom listings — the same mechanism used for graded or photographed cards — starting from the market price your Collectr export reported for each card. If the import fails

“Unknown CSV format.” Confirm the file still has the Portfolio Name, Category, and Variance columns intact — opening and resaving the CSV in a spreadsheet app sometimes changes headers. Re-export from Collectr without opening it first if you’re unsure. No cards appear after upload. Check whether your Collectr export was filtered when you created it — an export limited to one category or portfolio only imports that subset.
