A custom listing, photo listing, or a newly synced card that shows $0 for its market price usually isn’t broken — it’s Hoard declining to guess. Here’s why that happens and what to do.

Why this happens

A custom or photo listing has no barcode, so Hoard doesn’t automatically know which finish of a card you’re selling. That matters because a foil and a non-foil of the same card can be worth very different amounts. When Hoard fills in a market price for one of these listings, it follows a specific rule rather than guessing:
  • If the product only comes in one finish, Hoard uses that finish’s catalog price. No ambiguity, no problem.
  • If the product comes in more than one finish and Hoard has confident prices for at least two of them, it picks the finish closest to the price you already listed the card at.
  • If neither of those is true — multiple finishes exist but Hoard doesn’t have enough confident per-finish data — it leaves the price at $0 rather than seed it with a finish-blind, possibly wrong number.
That third case is the one that shows up as “stuck at 0."It′snotabug:seedingthewrongfinish′sprice(say,pricinganon−foiloffafoil−blendednumber)wouldbeworsethanleavingitblank,soHoardabstains.Acardleftat0." It's not a bug: seeding the wrong finish's price (say, pricing a non-foil off a foil-blended number) would be worse than leaving it blank, so Hoard abstains. A card left at 0 this way also gets skipped by repricing, since there’s no market reference to price it against.

How to fix it

Set the finish explicitly, if you know it. If you know exactly which finish you have, list or edit the card with that finish set correctly on TCGplayer. Once Hoard has a clear finish, the ambiguity that caused the abstain goes away on the next sync. Set a manual target price. If you don’t want to wait on the finish resolving, or the card’s finish genuinely isn’t in the catalog cleanly, set a price yourself. A manually set price stands until you change it or turn custom listing pricing back on for that card. Turn off Custom listing price updates for that listing.
