An employee can sign in with Discord instead of a password. Discord and Google are the only social sign-ins Hoard supports. For the owner’s own login, see Sign in with Google or Discord.

Accept the invite with Discord

  1. Open the invite email and click the link.
  2. On the Join page, click Continue with Discord and authorize Hoard.
  3. Back on the invite page, click Accept invitation.
The Discord account needs a verified email that matches the address you invited. If it doesn’t, Hoard shows “Use the email address this invitation was sent to.” and connects nothing. If the wrong Discord account is signed in on that browser, the employee should log out of Discord or use a private window. Clicking Continue with Discord doesn’t accept the invite on its own. If the Discord email is different, send a new invite to that address, or have the employee join with a password and connect Discord afterward.

Connect Discord later

  1. Sign in and click Your account in the Collect header.
  2. Under Sign in with Google or Discord, click Connect Discord.
  3. Authorize Hoard in Discord.
Hoard shows “Discord connected.” and emails the employee about it. The Discord email doesn’t have to match the login email, but it must be verified. If it isn’t, Hoard says “We need a verified email before connecting Discord.” One Discord account can belong to one person only. You can’t connect Discord for an employee. They do it while signed in.

Signing in

Continue with Discord only works once the account is connected. If an unknown Discord account tries it, Hoard doesn’t create staff access. It sends the person to magic-link sign-in with “For your safety, sign in with email first, then connect this account in settings.”

Disconnect Discord

In Your account, click Disconnect next to Discord. The button is greyed out until the employee has a password or another connected account. For expired invites, resending, and disabling access, see Invite an employee. Roles and permissions are in Team and employee logins.
