# Find underpriced cards to buy

> Work the Deals tab from the full list down to a set of cards worth buying.

This tutorial turns the Deals list into a buying decision.

Deals requires a paid plan.

## Step 1: Open Deals

Go to your Buy List and select the Deals tab.

Every card in the list has already passed Hoard's qualifying tests: a sharp drop or a gap below its 60-day median, confirmed by the market price, at least \$10 in normal value, and not already in decline. See [Deals](/features/deals) for the thresholds.

## Step 2: Filter by price band

Use the $10+, $50+, and \$200+ chips.

These filter by the card's normal value, not its current price. Set this to the price range you buy in before sorting.

## Step 3: Choose a sort

Percent below ranks by relative discount and favors cheaper cards. Use it when margin percentage matters more than absolute return.

Dollar gap ranks by absolute spread and favors expensive cards. Use it when you have capital to deploy and want fewer, larger positions.

A 40% discount on a $12 card and a 12% discount on a $400 card rank very differently under the two sorts.

## Step 4: Check each candidate

For each row, compare the current price against the normal price, then determine why the card dropped.

Hoard excludes cards already down 25% or more, so the list has no obvious falling knives. The tests use price history only. They do not account for:

* A reprint announced this week
* A ban or rotation
* An upcoming set release that changes what is playable

If you cannot explain why a card dropped, treat that as a reason for caution.

## Step 5: Save candidates

Select Save on any card you want to keep. It moves to your Saved tab.

Do this before leaving the page. The list rebuilds daily, and a card that stops qualifying is removed with no record that it was listed.

## Step 6: Buy

Buy links go to TCGplayer. You can send up to 100 cards at once through mass entry.

Buy links are TCGplayer affiliate links. Hoard earns a small commission at no cost to you.

## Before you buy

Check your existing exposure. Open the card's set in the [market explorer](/features/market-explorer) while signed in to see how many copies you already hold.

Spread purchases across sets and games. Twenty cards from one set are one position, not twenty, if that set has a reprint pending.
