# How to find sleeper cards before they spike

> Use Hoard's Sleepers subtab to find cards with a slow, steady price climb before everyone notices.

A one-day spike is easy to spot and usually already priced in by the time you see it. A sleeper — a card climbing slowly over weeks — is the one worth catching early. Hoard's Sleepers subtab is built for exactly that.

## Step 1: Open Sleepers

Go to the **Movers** tab and click the **Sleepers** subtab. It uses the same shared filter bar as Movers, so any game, rarity, min price, or set filters you already have set carry over.

## Step 2: Understand what qualifies

Sleepers shows cards with sustained price movement over the past 30 days, not one-day spikes. A card qualifies when it has moved at least 20% cumulatively and at least \$0.50 in absolute terms, with no single day accounting for more than half the total move. That last condition is what filters out a card that jumped once and then sat flat — Sleepers is looking for a steady climb, not a spike wearing a 30-day window.

## Step 3: Split by direction

Sleepers splits into **Rising** and **Falling** subtabs. Rising cards are slow-burn upside — the ones worth watching before they show up on everyone's Movers tab. Falling cards are slow-burn downside, useful if you're holding copies and deciding whether to sell before the trend continues.

## Step 4: Filter to your range

Use the same min price presets ($1+, $5+, $10+, $50+, \$100+) and the set dropdown as Movers to cut out noise you don't care about — bulk commons drifting a few cents rarely matters.

## Step 5: Open a card for the full picture

Click a card name to open the detail panel and see its price trend chart and recent sales before you act.

## Sleepers vs. Deals

Sleepers and the Buy List's Deals tab both look like "cards worth a second look," but they answer different questions. Sleepers shows price movement in the broader market, including cards you don't own. ## Why 30 days and not a shorter window

A shorter window would catch spikes, which is what Movers' Gainers subtab already does. Sleepers is deliberately looking further out, at movement that a same-day or even 7-day view wouldn't flag as unusual, because a slow climb rarely trips any single day's threshold on its own. That's also why the badges are different from the buy-out and thin-market ones you'll see on Movers — a sleeper isn't a supply event, it's a demand trend building quietly.
